Mongaup River Access (RM 261) to Kittatinny Point Visitor Center (RM 211.5)
August 19–23 | 5 Days / 4 Nights

Bag Check & Meal Prep: 6:30PM at VFW on 8/17. (Bags will Stay overnight)
Trip Meetup Time: 6:00am at VFW on 8/19
Trip Return: 4pm at VFW on 8/23 (Estimated but will Text)

Personal Water Filter Options (Not Required but Recommended) - Allows water to be taken from the river real time and safely be drunk
Note: Purchase Carabiner to clip to equipment line.

Boys Non Cheffing Bathing Site Idea:
While we can't recommend this product based on quality, it is an example of the built in spandex pants which is more ideal than standard mesh bathing suits for boys.

ITINERARY:

Day 1 – Wednesday, August 19
Launch: Mongaup River Access (RM 261)
Paddle: 11.5 or 18.5 miles
Night 1: Option 1 Mashipacong (RM 249.5) (Cat Holes Only)
Night 1: Option 2 Namanock Island (RM 242.5) (Cat Holes Only)
Day 2 – Thursday, August 20
Paddle: 13.8 miles
Camp: Valley View Campground (RM 228.7) (PortaJon or similar)
Night 2: Valley View Campground
Day 3 – Friday, August 21 (Service Project Day)
Paddle: ~4.7 miles
Camp: Alosa Group Site (RM 224) (PortaJon or similar)
Conduct service project after reaching camp.
Night 3: Alosa Group Site
Day 4 – Saturday, August 22
Paddle: ~7.4 miles
Camp: Walters Campsite (RM 216.6) - NOTE: No thunderboxes! Will paddle .5 to visitor beach with porta jons. We need to make up for the .5 mileage deficit to make 50 miles!
Night 4: Walters Campsite
Day 5 – Sunday, August 23
Paddle: ~5.1 miles
Take-Out: Kittatinny Point Visitor Center (RM 211.5)

Note: Let's use reason here. Clothing, First Aide, sleeping bag all need to fit in your drybag. Clothing should be at a minimum. Bathing suite/shirt for daytime, Dry separate clothing to sleep in. Carry a long sleeve as night can get a chill. ​

Scouts will be issued 1 drybag for personal belongings. Everything must fit in it with the ability to role the top 3 times. Overpacking is not allowed.
